More than 300 companies and thousands of volunteers donated materials, labor and time to keep the home’s construction on schedule day in and day out. Jacobs Homes also organized and directed a fundraising drive for the O’Donnell’s. Through a series of events, sponsorships, and an ongoing donation drive, Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition raised over $200,000—more than enough to cover the outstanding mortgage and a large share of household expenses.
